2017 League Changes

The Pine Island Baseball Association has been a strong participant and supporter of the area Junior and Senior Babe Ruth leagues for many years.  New for this year, players in grades seven and eight will be participating in the Metro Baseball League.  Another notable change is that players in grades nine and ten will now be playing Junior Legion rather than in a twilight league.  For the summer of 2017 Junior Legion will be playing an independent schedule, some weekend tournaments, and possibly in the Junior Legion post season tournament.  Junior Legion is popular in the twin cities metro area and in other parts of the state but is new to SE Minnesota.  Coach Pederson is part of a group of organizers that is working to establish a Junior Legion league in SE Minnesota.

Important Dates

  • 3/15/2017 - Registration opens
  • 4/9/2017 - Traveling league registration deadline.  There will be a $20 late fee to register for 3rd-8th grade traveling leagues beyond this date.
  • 5/14/2017 - In-house league registration deadline.  There will be a $20 late fee to register for rookies, minors, and majors in-house leagues beyond this date.

Traveling leagues teams must be planned early so you must register players for 3rd-8th grade traveling leagues by April 9th so that teams can be formed at each age level.  Registration for players playing in house leagues only must be completed by May 14th so that teams can be formed prior to the start of league play in June.

PLEASE NOTE:  When you create a new sportsignup account or use an existing account please note that the email address that you provide will be used for all league and team emails.  You can also register to receive SMS text messages for urgent schedule changes due to rain outs.  Coaches and league administrators use the tools to send emails and text messages to teams, divisions, and the entire summer session.  If you would like to modify the email address used or specify additional email addresses you can do so in your sportsignup account.  Simply log in and edit your account settings.  You can also add additional adults (for example, grandparents) to your account and specify an email address for the additional adult added.

Thank you for registering online.  The Pine Island Baseball Association looks forward to a fun summer of baseball!
